Reserve began as an exper­i­ment in automat­ing the check-​​in/​checkout process of A/​V equip­ment in the Dig­i­tal Media Arts and Tech­nol­ogy Lab at Michi­gan State. The end result is a 3^rd gen­er­a­tion appli­ca­tion that han­dles all the sched­ul­ing of equip­ment and stu­dios within the lab.

As in pre­vi­ous projects, Jeff worked with devel­op­ers in the CAS Infotech Office to build a web inter­face for the appli­ca­tion. The cur­rent iter­a­tion is in it’s third revi­sion and includes feed­back and changes from a small usabil­ity study con­ducted in 2008. Reserve remains in active devel­op­ment and is a vital part of the day-​​to-​​day oper­a­tions of the CAS DMAT Lab.
